An Eye Witness stated, "You saw on TV that Mayers and Virat were walking side by side for a few meters post-match. Mayers asked Kohli why he was constantly abusing them, and Virat, in turn, questioned why he was (Mayers) 'staring' at him. Before that, Mishra (Amit) had complained to the umpire about Virat constantly abusing Naveen (ul-Haq), who is a No. 10 batter."
After that, he said, "Gautam, sensing that things could turn ugly, pulled Mayers and told him not to have a conversation when Virat made a comment. The heated exchange that followed seemed a bit juvenile." Then he said, "Gautam asked 'Kya bol raha hain bol' (What are you saying?), and Virat replied, 'Maine aapko kuch bola hi Nahin, aap kyon thus rahein ho' (I was not talking to you, why are you coming in between).
Then Gautam responded as, 'Tuney agar mere player ko bola hai, matlab tune meri family ko gaali diya hai. (You abused my player; that means you abused my family) to which Virat replied, 'Toh aap apne family ko sambhal ke rakhi. (Then take care of your family).
"Lastly, Gambhir said, 'Toh ab tu mujhe sikhayega...' (So now I have to learn it from you...)."
The eyewitness said that it was a very tense situation on the field. No one was expecting such kiddish behaviour from these legends. However, it was like a deja-vu situation for people who witnessed this duo's argument in 2013 during the KKR and RCB match.
